About test results

An indication, not a diagnosis

An EngineIQ test gives an indication of the condition of your engine oil. It screens for signs that can point to problems worth a closer look. It isn't a mechanical inspection, and it doesn't diagnose faults.

A normal result isn't a guarantee

A result that looks normal means the sample didn't show the signs the test looks for. It doesn't guarantee the condition of the engine, and it can't tell you about parts of the car the oil doesn't reach.

If your result is unusual

Don't panic, and don't assume the worst. An unusual result is a reason to find out more. We'd suggest talking to a mechanic you trust, who may recommend an inspection or a laboratory oil analysis.

Getting a reliable result

Follow the instructions in the pack carefully. A result may not be reliable if:

• the sample isn't engine oil, or comes from somewhere other than the dipstick
• the card is scanned before it has fully developed
• TO CONFIRM: other conditions that invalidate a test, from the supplier's instructions

TO CONFIRM: the engines, oils and fluids the test is validated for, and any exclusions, from the supplier's validation documents.
