How much does a test cost?
£35 per test card, with free UK delivery. That price includes your report by email. [TO CONFIRM: no extra fee at the testing point]
How quickly will my card arrive?
We post cards within 1–2 working days of your order and email you when yours is on its way.
Where do I scan my card?
At an EngineIQ testing point, such as a partner garage or self-service kiosk. See the list on our Where to test page, or contact us and we'll point you to the nearest one.
What can the test tell me?
It gives an indication of the condition of your engine oil and screens for signs that can point to problems worth a closer look. [TO CONFIRM: supplier-approved list of what the test screens for] It isn't a mechanical inspection or a diagnosis, and a normal result doesn't guarantee the engine's condition.
What if my result isn't normal?
Your report explains what the result indicates. If something looks unusual, we'd suggest talking to a mechanic you trust, who may recommend an inspection or a laboratory oil analysis.
Which vehicles is it suitable for?
Cars with a petrol or diesel engine, including hybrids. It isn't suitable for fully electric vehicles, which don't have engine oil. [TO CONFIRM: supported engines, fluids and exclusions from the supplier]
How do I take the oil sample?
The card comes with step-by-step instructions. You put a single drop of oil from the dipstick on the card, then leave it to develop before scanning. [TO CONFIRM: engine temperature, development time and handling advice]
How long can I keep a card before using it?

Do I need an account?
No. You just need an email address for your order confirmation and your report.
Can I return a card?
Yes. You can cancel and return unused cards within 14 days of receiving them for a full refund. See Returns and cancellations for how.
Do your prices include VAT?
EngineIQ isn't VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. The price you see is the price you pay.
