Who we are

What we collect and why

When you buy a test card

Your name, email address and delivery address, so we can send your order and tell you about it. We use this to perform our contract with you. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

When you contact us

Your name, email address and message, so we can reply. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

When you check your vehicle

The registration you enter is sent to the DVSA MOT history service and the DVLA vehicle enquiry service to fetch the official record for that vehicle. We don't store registrations you look up.

When you use a test card

TO CONFIRM: what information is collected when a card is scanned (for example email address, vehicle details and mileage), who holds the report data, and how long it is kept. This depends on the agreement with the analysis provider.

When you visit the website

We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Plausible doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal information. Our hosting provider keeps short-term server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who only process your information on our instructions:

• Stripe, for payments
• Resend, to send order and enquiry emails
• Railway, to host this website
• Plausible, for privacy-friendly visitor statistics
• DVSA and DVLA, for vehicle checks you ask us to make

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where information is transferred abroad, it's protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or approved contract terms. We don't sell your information and we don't send marketing emails.

How long we keep it

• Order records: 6 years, to meet tax and accounting rules
• Enquiries: up to 2 years after we last hear from you
• Server logs: up to 30 days

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@engineiq.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. When you pay, Stripe's checkout page uses its own essential cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.
